Wolverine and RES Americas (RES) continue to move forward with the Deerfield Wind Energy Project, however the overall size has shifted from the original plan. Wolverine will now be receiving a total of 150 megawatts of wind energy from the project, up from 114 megawatts originally agreed upon earlier this year.

Zach Anderson, Wolverine’s Merchant Operations Supervisor, said the opportunity presented itself for Wolverine to increase the size of the project and to add cost-effective renewables to its portfolio. “This increase in wind energy from the Deerfield Wind Energy Project will bring Wolverine’s overall renewables to 18 percent by 2017, a good-news story we can all be proud of”, states Anderson.

Construction for the project is expected to begin before the end of the year with an anticipated completion date of December 31, 2016.
